Carol Bosserman Passing

It is with great sadness to relay to you all that Carol Bosserman has passed away. She and her husband, Dr. Phillip Bosserman, were an integral part of our Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution and it’s creation at Salisbury University. Her lively, warm and loving presence will be missed.

SALISBURY – Carol Ann Pokrant Bosserman dies on December 22, 2018 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, Salisbury, Maryland. She was 85 years old.

Born in Upper Darby, PA, she was the oldest daughter of the late Awald E. Pokrant and Pheobe M. Roberts Pokrant of Pensacola, FL.

Mrs. Bosserman was a graduate of Pensacola Jr. College, Vanderbilt Peabody University and The University of South Florida. She taught elementary school for 15 years and retired as an academic counselor at Salisbury University after 18 years there in 1994 to accompany her husband, Dr. C. Phillip Bosserman in Japan for three years. She dedicated much of her time to her church, the League of Women Voters and to Habitat for Humanity.

She is survived by her sons Douglas Conley and wife Lisa of Longwood, Fl, Brian Conley of Ocean City, MD, Marc Bosserman and wife Joni od Studio City, CA, Jonathan Conley and wife Lisa of Delmar, DE, daughter Marji Slavin and husband Gerry of Tampa, FL, Katy Bosserman of Bel Air, MD, sisters Vivian Oberhaus of Napoleon, OH, Elaine Pokrant and Florence Pokrant of Pensacola, FL, eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in passing by her older brother Awald Edward Pokrant, grandson Shane Conley, and her husband , Dr. C. Phillip Bosserman.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephens UMC in Delmar, DE on Saturday, January 19 at 3:00 pm. Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Center for Conflict Resolution, 1100 Camden Ave., Salisbury, MD 21801
